These data were acquired using a Ceyomur CY95 wildlife camera, placed 1 meter in front of a nest of the Western Striolated Puffbird (Nystalus obamai), located on an access road on a cattle farm, adjacent to a 5 acre patch forest surrounded by cattle pasture. We monitored the development of 2 hatchlings thru their entire development, until they left the nest.

I was walking inside a trail adjacent to Mandiyaco River, near to PNN Churumbelos, far away I heard the song and I walk slowly to find the bird, after that, I heard a couple singing inside of montane forest during one minute, (The recording was made with my digital camera). I and other partners are writing a paper of this record for Colombia, also, we believe that according to http://www.museum.lsu.edu/~Remsen/SACCprop617.htm this taxon was elevated to species level: Nystalus obamai, and xenocanto should follow this split.
