Albert's Lyrebird - Menura alberti Mike FitzGerald 2019-11-01 Upper Horseshoe Creek, Kyogle Council, New South Wales, Kyogle (Australia) (1100 m) female, life stage uncertain, song -

Extracted from soundscape recording. Unusual vocalisations similar in character to alarm calls heard from females but this continued for over 7 minutes. Some normal whistle calls typical of males from this location are also heard in background and some mimicry of crimson rosella by the (?female) subject. After consulting with researchers on this species, the consensus was that this is likely a female bird's vocalisations. Context and function are unknown. Bird not seen.

Albert's Lyrebird - Menura alberti Marc Anderson 2013-07-16 Border Ranges National Park (near Border Ranges), New South Wales, New South Wales (Australia) (800 m) male, song -

Song phrases and mimicry of Satin Bowerbird, Eastern Whipbird, Laughing Kookaburra & Australian Logrunner. This species seems to concentrate it's mimicry on very good impersonations of Satin Bowerbird, with less frequent and sometimes barely recognizable attempts at mimicking other species.

No filtering but some editing of microphone noise and artefacts. Eucalyptus pilularis dominant wet sclerophyll forest adjoining subtropical rainforest in gullies, bird 50-100m in rainforest gully. Still, foggy morning with much dewfall, dripping. Begins with mimicry then repeats local territorial song for this population: small (less than 10 birds) and an isolated population at the southernmost extremity of the species range in the Blackwall Range and Uralba Nature Reserve.
