Recording made using LG Optimus smartphone. Two male Japanese Paradise-flycatchers were heard singing along a roadside near Yeonhwasan Provincial Park. One of the males was observed and photographed; this is the bird on the recording.

The habitat was second-growth broadleaf deciduous forest, with a small stream nearby. The habitat was at the base of a mountainside, near a rice paddy. The bird was very active, flying back and forth across the roadway, and capturing insects on the fly. No sign of a female bird was found, but this species has been known to breed at this location in the past.
