Red Crossbill - Loxia curvirostra Beatrix Saadi-Varchmin 2016-02-09 forest near Hagenheim/Hofstetten (near Landsberg), Upper Bavaria, Bavaria, Bavaria (Germany) (700 m) begging call, call, juvenile -

In this winter there are a lot of Crossbills in our region. Today morning I heard in the nearby wood these begging calls in the top of high spruces, and though I am not familiar with the voices of young Crossbills, I think, this must be two or three fledged Crossbills. At 0:58 calls from an adult. Weather: relatively warm since long, the spruces have a lot of cones.
