One of the two best recordings that I obtained from the three pairs of Falkland Steamer Ducks near the rocky shore of West Point Island. In this recording, the male lifts his head to 45 degree angle and gives a 'grunting' call, the female gives a 'squeaking' call repeatedly before both dive in shallow water and steam underwater together.

The first pair is calling and swimming south along the shore land before passing a second pair swimming north, with both pairs calling as they pass each other in the last calls of the recording.

No filtering. Bird appeared to be an immature (not juvenile) male based on its bright orange bill but dull head. Bird was close to shore and I took video from which this recording was extracted.
