White-rumped Sandpiper - Calidris fuscicollis Andrew Spencer 2012-10-11 Pousada Piuval, Transpantaneira km 12, MT, Mato Grosso (Brazil) (120 m) call -

natural vocalizations; calls from three or four birds chasing each other around a large pool of water in open savanna mixed with some gallery forest. During this entire cut the birds were aggressively interacting in the air, and when one bird would land another one or two would come and start chasing it again. I'm not sure what was going on.

White-rumped Sandpiper - Calidris fuscicollis J.R. Rigby 2016-05-11 Belzoni, Humphreys County, Mississippi, Humphreys (United States) (30 m) alarm call, call -

Natural sound. Bird was flushed by our approach from a mixed flock of Stilt Sandpipers, Semipalmated Sandpipers, Dunlin and White-rumped Sandpipers. This individual flew off on its own, circled back, and gave a high alarm call as it passed us. The entire shorebird flock flushed after the alarm call (wing noise can be heard on the recording).

Habitat

Converted catfish farm. Most ponds with some early succession vegetation. Some with shallow water good for shorebirds.

Editing

Edited in Adobe Audition. Butterworth high-pass filter, order 3, cutoff frequency 800 Hz
