It was large. I seem to recall that its tail had black and yellowish barring and that it was spotted black and white. I think it may have been a female Pacific koel. It was being harassed by red wattlebirds, a pair of which live in the area with a juvenile that fledged a month or so ago. It was on the ground behind a Grevillea
