13 soft whisper whistles from female 2.5 m up in tiny sapling in rather open primary forest, very soft vocalizations given only 4 m from me; interval shortened at 3:32, a wonderful variety of contact whisper calls from both, the male having brought an orthopteran to the female and then perched near her, dropping to the ground to flick leaves looking for more prey; heavily filtered fighting the surf on the beach and several bands of cicadas, one minor band of cicadas close to kingfisher frequency still a minor factor; these vocalizations were very quiet, and I am hearing them much better now than I was there, even just 4 m away from these completely placid birds;
