No modification to recording. The bird started calling about 20 seconds before I started recording. This is the total length of the call. No other Kagu calls came from this area, that morning. Forest habitat, bird was on the ground maybe <30m into forest - I went into forest to search, but saw nothing. Bird(s) not seen. Most mornings there was a chorus of Kagu - singing from 4 or 5 locations in the area. This is the only time (in 7 mornings that I've stayed at the site) that birds were calling so close to the accommodation.
