  • Alaudala rufescens [minor or nicolli]: northern Africa (from Morocco east to Egypt) and from southern Turkey south to the Sinai Peninsula and east to Iraq
  • Alaudala rufescens apetzii: S Iberian Peninsula
  • Alaudala heinei [heinei or pseudobaetica]: breeds from Ukraine and eastern Turkey east to eastern Kazakhstan and (disjunctly?) to southern Mongolia; wintering in the Middle East and southwestern Asia
  • Alaudala heinei persica: S Iraq and Iran to se Afghanistan
  • Alaudala heinei [aharonii or niethammeri]: breeds central Turkey (Anatolian high plateau); partially migratory, wintering to central Syria
  • Alaudala cheleensis cheleensis: E Transbaikalia and n Mongolia to ne China
  • Alaudala cheleensis leucophaea: Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan (south of the Kyzylkum Desert),and western and southern Kazakhstan, east to Lake Balkhash and the Fergana Basin; winters in southwestern Asia
