In this track, most of the birds from the flock in XC127999 are out foraging in the grasses. Only a few birds are left behind and singing in the bushes, so it's possible to focus on just a single song at a time. Windy, cold, and overcast.

Filtered low frequencies slightly for wind, traffic, and airplane noise. Recorded with Olympus LS-10S and homemade parabolic reflector.

calls from a single bird in response to pishing. While calling the bird was perched low and hidden in a row of short roadside willows bordering dry tundra.

Tee-Yup calls and other musical chirps made by small flock of probably migratory birds. Raven in background is much lower pitched and does not interfere with their calls. Temp. in high 40s, very overcast (had been raining lightly shortly before this recording was made). Birds were in scrubby small trees/shrubs near sides of dirt road and this recording was done from inside the car with the engine turned off. Behind the trees they were perched in were acres of open grassland bordered by a mixed forest of deciduous and conifer trees.

Unmodified recording of flock comprised of about 20 birds in shrubs alongside country road with agricultural field on one side and a pheasant preserve on the other. The wing sounds occur at 8-10 seconds into the recording. Frosty morning, 28 degrees F, temperature rising into the high 30s at time of recording.
