Inland Thornbill - Acanthiza apicalis | Eliot Miller | 2019-08-22 | (-23.0816,118.9534), East Pilbara, Western Australia, Australia, null | - Five cuts strung together with 1 second silences in between. Second cut (starting around 1:09) is very interesting--does the average frequency of the song get higher over the duration of the cut? In the third cut I was walking slowly towards an interacting pair. Eventually I got close enough and footsteps stop, quality improves. Fourth cut ends with calls given in flight, and all of calls in fifth cut were given in flight. IMPORTANT: these calls were recorded from birds that I photographed at the same time to provide a visual match. Will upload and link photos later. | 177524151 macaulaylibrary.org |
