Greater Pewee - Contopus pertinax Eric Hough 2015-03-04 Rio Verde, Maricopa County, Arizona, Maricopa (United States) (1000 m) call -

Bird gives two note 'pip-pip' calls just before these marks: 0:01, 0:03, and 0:07. Playback was used to draw the bird closer for documentation. High and low pass filters and amplification used in Audacity. The bird likely over-wintered here along Sycamore Creek given the date, rather than it being a low-elevation early migrant. Photos of the bird are on my eBird checklist at this link: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S22176459
