File amplification to -3 dB peak was the only modification. Recorded in an area of wet, boggy forest, dominated by well spaced, short black spruce and tamarack trees with an under story of mosses and short, moisture loving deciduous bushes and low plants. The bird was perched upright on a horizontal branch of a short tamarack, approx. 3-4 m off the ground and approx. 15 m from the mic. During the recording, the bird mostly faced the mic. but did briefly turn and face the other direction once. The bird was in typical adult plumage and looked to be in good feather condition - fairly bright looking and not obviously worn (watched using 8 X binoculars for a time before recording). Weather: mostly clear; approx. 13 C; light breezes.
