Natural sound. Bird foraging along a drainage ditch in early succession trees approximately 1-2m above the ground and 5m from me. No large trees in within a quarter mile. Tallest vegetation ~5m, and most ~3m or less. Good Painted Bunting habitat generally. Same individual as XC315083.

Habitat

National Wildlife Refuge consisting of converted aquaculture ponds, some bottomland hardwood, and flooded agricultural fields. Primary area is a series of ~20 aquaculture ponds managed for waterfowl and shorebirds, surrounded by trees. A diversion canal of the Tallahatchie River runs along the eastern boundary.

Mixed paper birch - quaking aspen woodland about 10 - 15 meters from Muddy River, a sinuous watercourse with many sloughs. Within a kilometer were many muskegs and lakes surrounded by spruce.
