| Townsend's Solitaire - Myadestes townsendi townsendi | Richard E. Webster | 2022-11-06 | Portal, Arizona, Cochise (United States) (1400 m) | song - two Townsend's in large Alligator Juniper, interior perches 1-2 m apart, in slow motion dance as one moves and the other moves a bit, too, staying close; periods of loud song, but mostly whisper song; both birds singing, seemingly in somewhat alternating fashion, one mostly giving quiet, buzzier songs, the other much louder; wintering birds; others audible faintly in the background; overall, a very involved form of interaction (no physical interactions between them) with song and close positioning for a long time; they are feeding on juniper berries, but not from this species (Alligator), which is a more open type of juniper with nice perches and open viewing under the canopy; a particularly nice stretch from 5:32 to 8:00; I did not move, I wasn't adjusting the gain, so you can tell what is whisper song, but very hard to tell which bird is which, in the many switches; same birds continued in XC775251;
