  • Uria aalge aalge: breeds in the North Atlantic, from eastern North America, Greenland, and Iceland through the Faroe Islands and Scotland to southern Norway and the Baltic Sea
  • Uria aalge hyperborea: breeds Svalbard through northern Norway and northwestern Russia eastward to Novaya Zemlya
  • Uria aalge albionis: British Isles to western Iberian Peninsula; Helgoland
  • Uria aalge inornata: Korea, Japan, and Kamchatka to Bering Sea and British Columbia
  • Uria aalge californica: northern Washington to southern California
  • Uria lomvia: breeds cliffs of high and low Arctic (locally subarctic) Holarctic coasts; winters south of pack-ice, to coastal New York and northern Japan
