Male perched in a stem of a withered Vitis tiliifolia that grew up at an old Wigandia urens shrub. Wigandia is in flowering and the hummingbird has taken possession of the shrub. Height of bird from ground: 2 m. Other flowering plants at nearness: Bougainvillea shrub. Old garden in a suburban neighborhood, near to pine-oak forest.

Sound recorded with built-in microphones of Sony PCM-M10 recorder. Distance of recorder from sound source: 2 meters. Filtered to reduce noise with Audacity sound editor.
