| Trindade Petrel - Pterodroma arminjoniana | Kathryn Hodder | 1993-02-14 | Round Island, Rivière du Rempart (Mauritius) (50 m) | call, flight call, song - Pterodroma colony on Round Island is now know to consist of around 80% P. arminjoniana and up to 10% each of P. neglecta and P. heraldica, and an uncertain number of hybrids probably involving all 3 species. Recordings here seem typical of arminjoniana (Vikash Tatayah pers. comm.), but other species and hybrids may be mixed in. Calls given from ground and in flight, growls probably only from ground.
