juvenile flying well, with an adult

Bird not seen during recording, and only briefly when I flushed it by coming nearer. I just arrived overnight from Europe and impression was of a 'small, juvenile accipiter with floppy (broad-winged) flight, heavily spotted black and dark barring to the sides.' Back then , I though about a juvenile Little SParrowhawk, but no sounds of that species seem to match.

James Bradley has suggested Black Sparrowhawk, which is much larger. But the calls of that species match this recording much better in structure, though the call here is much more throaty. James pointed out the recording from S Africa in XC436590, and that one comes closer.

ID therefore still somewhat tentative.
