The scarce swift is a species of swift in the family Apodidae. It has a disjunct range of presence throughout the Afromontane : Cameroon line, Albertine Rift montane forests, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Mozambique. Source: Wikipedia

  • Schoutedenapus myoptilus: patchy in foothill and montane gorges and waterfalls in forest from western Cameroon and Bioko (Gulf of Guinea) eastward to Ethiopia and Kenya, and southward to Angola, eastern Zimbabwe, and adjacent Mozambique; post-breeding dispersal likely but poorly understood
  • Schoutedenapus myoptilus myoptilus: highlands of Ethiopia to Zimbabwe and western Mozambique
  • Schoutedenapus myoptilus poensis: western Cameroon and Bioko (Gulf of Guinea)
  • Schoutedenapus myoptilus chapini: highlands of eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, and southwestern Uganda
