Unmodified recording made on Blue Trail about a half hour and a half mile from where XC860792 was made of the same species. See that recording for more remarks. Just three birds present for the present recording.

Two consecutive recordings combined, with a 1-second break when 23 seconds of silence removed from the first, and another break before the second, but otherwise unmodified. Small flock of 4-6 Brown-headed Nuthatches in small trees in dune area. The first recording was made in a tree downwind of microphone when birds were flying into that tree from upwind; then when they had moved on, microphone was directed in opposite direction, upwind, to record birds in a different tree. They were foraging on trunk, branches and in terminal pine needle clusters, very actively, and although in the same tree appeared to move independently of each other. Temp. in 60s, sunny, mostly calm wind. Beach facing Gulf of Mexico 20 meters upwind, where there were Willets and Sanderlings. Many Yellow-rumped Warblers in dune area. Later encountered another troupe of Brown-headed Nuthatches along trail and those recordings will be submitted separately.
