While surveying an area at Semenggoh with staff from Sarawak Forestry, we heard White-crowned Hornbill from a distance. I mentioned this to the group and played a vocalization of the species so that everyone could hear it. It is possible that my playing of that sound was heard by the hornbills. They moved in closer and vocalized for several minutes, eventually flying overhead so that we could see them. There were eight individuals.
