Transvolcanic Jay - Aphelocoma ultramarina Andrew Spencer 2015-05-26 Cerro La Bufa, San Sebastián del Oeste, Jalisco, Jalisco (Mexico) (2500 m) call -

natural vocalization; two call types from an unseen (at the time of the recording) flock. Since the flock wasn't seen while this recording was made, I can't say for certain that the harsh calls aren't being made by Steller's Jays. But when we did find the flock there was no sign of that species, and the call also sounds a bit wrong for Steller's to me. So I suspect it was the Transvolcanic Jays making both calls in this cut. Habitat was tall pine-oak forest.
