Geographic range:

• Aulacorhynchus albivitta: montane cloud forest in the Andes of western Venezuela, including Sierra de Perijá, southward along the central and eastern Andes of Colombia to far northern Peru, north of the Río Marañón; also in Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and west of the Andes southward to southern Colombia, mostly north of the Río Patia in Cauca; in Peru south of the Río Marañón southeastward along the Andes to central Bolivia in westernmost Santa Cruz, including lowlands locally in Ucayali and Madre de Dios eastward to adjacent Brazil in Acre and adjacent Rondônia and northernmost Bolivian (Pando)
• Aulacorhynchus albivitta albivitta: eastern and central Andes of Colombia, eastern Ecuador, and western Venezuela
• Aulacorhynchus albivitta griseigularis: northern end of western Andes and west slope of central Andes of Colombia
