Also in background: Domestic Red Junglefowl. Possible background species: House Finch, Northern Cardinal, Java Sparrow, Yellow-billed Cardinal, Red-crested cardinal. These Zebra Doves were yard birds in a residental neighborhood next to a golf course, and the main ones were in a tree in the yard. Two sound types were heard: a grating call, and a cooing song. I observe the male calling out loudly post mating. Wells (1999) states that the 'male sings as they sit side by side' and describes the song in detail. This post copulation song was intermittent but extended for 3-4 minutes, with 28 notes per minute that were spaced out evenly. I wonder if it was a call to advertise territory post mating?

The bird is most likely a male calling its mate. I have seen some occasions when the male uses this call, he will fan out his tail as well, so it may be considered as a display call. There are some unseen dark-necked tailorbirds(Orthotomus atrogularis) in the nearby bushes.

Two birds on my windowsill, I would assume this is some sort of courtship behaviour. First bird making the strange calls at start of recording and 0:06, second bird flies in at 0:06 as well, first bird flies off sometime after. The sounds at 0:10, 0:24 etc. are either vocalisations of the second bird or the bird tapping its beak on the window frame.
