Vocal interaction between members of a territorial pair, possibly some of the same birds as in XC452888. Recording begins with one of the pair uttering its (latter) part of the duet (e.g. 0:10, 0:14, ); the mate joins in with its contribution (e.g. just before 0:20, just after 0:26, at 0:31, 0:35, etc.). The rest of the recording demonstrates considerable variation in the duet of these two birds (e.g. 1:08, 2:04, 2:15, 2:19, 2:22, 2:52). The birds were moving about in the canopy of a small (3 metre) Camelthorn tree, in semi-arid Kalahari Thornveld. Another distant pair can be heard towards the end of the recording. Original recording analogue; converted to digital. Recording modified slightly, using high pass and low pass filtering, as well as slight amplification.

A territorial pair of birds recorded in Kalahari Thornveld. The closer member of the pair sings its part of the pair's duet, and is immediately answered by its mate, who is further away (e.g. 0:02, 0:04, just after 0:12, etc.). The closer bird also utters a number of low, churring contact calls (e.g. just after 0:18, just before 0:22, just after 0:27, at 0:30, 0:33, 0:36, 0:46, etc.) in between the duetting with its mate. Another territorial pair can be heard duetting in the distance. Recording modified slightly, using high pass and low pass filtering, as well as slight amplication.
