adult male singing from exposed perches on top of 4-5 m junipers on open desert slope, highest objects around except agave stalks; seemed to be on the move/prospecting; fits pattern of periodic song by fall migrants that occasionally results in breeding in late summer in this region; interval shortened at 1:58; perhaps same as recorded on the next visit in early August;
