A male on his song post calling sporadically, with 2 other males within auditory contact, responding to each others calls. Calls at this time of year-midwinter- are infrequent with maybe 2 or 3 minutes between each in the early morning; frequency will increase as it warms up from August on and the display season commences.

Double rasp

This female plumaged riflebird was mobbing a large amethystine python that was emerging from under our roof, this is the typical mobbing call used when they find a snake. There were 2 female-type birds attracted to the snake, which quickly went back into cover! Recording part-mono but come good after 15 seconds or so

This is similar to but much quieter and less raucous than the display call, it seems to be a simply a contact call given when foraging

This adult male was waiting to be fed on the feeder, and this quiet version of the usual advertising call is given much more frequently, once every 10-15 secs as opposed to once every 90 seconds plus. You can also hear the rustle of the wings in flight at the very end.

This adult male was waiting to be fed on the feeder, and this quiet version of the usual advertising call is given much more frequently, once every 10-15 secs as opposed to once every 90 seconds plus. There was a female plumaged bird plus a subadult male nearby, and there is an unusual quite sharp 'kuk' series picked up here near the end of the cut around 48-53 secs which was given by one of them. Note recording is part mono due to longstanding Marantz problem
