Abundant all year around. Noctunal Curassow is NOT that nocturnal at all; it only sings at night, several times encounter on the ground, capture on trap cameras and Waorani People agree with this comment.

This is an acceptable recording of this special species, lasting several minutes. It was made at 4:19 am ; during a "Big Day count" in Ecuador, when four of my companions identified 431 species in one day, currently the world record. The talking in the background is done by the four birders who broke the record: Dusan Brinkhuizen; Rudy Gelis; Tuomas Seimola; and Mitch Lysinger. The discussion is what other birds may be present, and then where to go next.

Vocalizations by three unseen birds in response to playback. The lowest-pitched bird was probably a male perched about 20m up in canopy of terra firme, the two 'raspier' individuals may have been females (according to our local guides) and sounded lower to the ground.
