| Princess Parrot - Polytelis alexandrae | Mark Carter | 2018-10-02 | Gibson Desert North, Shire of East Pilbara, Western Australia, East Pilbara (Australia) (320 m) | alarm call, call - Overnight recording using acoustic SM4 automated unit. Recorder was strapped to tree trunk in mosaic habitat of mature she-oak and old growth spinifex. Brief capture of 5 Princess Parrot calls. No doppler effect apparent so seems the birds were stationary, perhaps chatting at a roost tree? Party of 4 Princess Parrot was seen at my campsite the following morning at dawn and there had been several sightings of small flocks in the week before. Very confident these are Princess Parrot. bird-seen:no playback-used:no
