Unmodified recording. Recording was made while walking along a dirt path near a meadow. First I heard the strange song of the bird and that is recorded on XC735208. A short while later I flushed an Upland Sandpiper from next to the path I was walking on. It made alarm calls and then flew to a post on the other side of the path. My camera clicks can be heard on the recording. I will submit the best of the photos to Flickr. From the post the bird stopped making alarm calls and delivered a song two times, also on the recording. Then it flew down into the grass where it became quiet and I could no longer see it. I got the impression that it had a nest or young nearby. That transpired on recording XC735210. On the present recording, there are both 'Chuckles' (alarm calls) and songs from the bird that was back up on a post. I was concerned that I was keeping the bird from its parenting duties, so left without going farther along the path. I didn't see a second bird, although I heard songs coming from three different areas of the meadow.

Unmodified recording a few minutes after XC815121, which were Chuckles and Quiddyquit calls made by a pair of Upland Sandpipers that landed in snags nearby, and then flew away after apparently checking on nest or nestlings. With recordist unmoved from former position (partly hidden by a shrub, waiting to see if they might return), three short songs were heard. They are in the first minute of this recording, and one more song several minutes later, at the end of the recording. Two Chuckles are also recorded at about 2:04 and 2:10, but much softer than on XC815121 because the birds were more distant.
