  • Pernis ptilorhynchus philippensis: northern and eastern Philippines
  • Pernis ptilorhynchus orientalis: southern Siberia to Manchuria and Japan; winters to Greater Sundas
  • Pernis celebensis: Sulawesi region, including Togian, Banggai, and Sula islands (off eastern Sulawesi) and Muna and Buton (to southeast)
  • Pernis steerei: lowland forest of Philippines (except Palawan group and Cebu )
