| Spectacled Weaver - Ploceus ocularis suahelicus | Oliver Fowler | 2024-02-08 | Castle Forest Lodge, Mount Kenya Forest, Kirinyaga County, Kirinyaga (Kenya) (2100 m) | call, song - Pair of birds foraging or collecting nesting materials in bush in large glade in montane forest. There are two background songs throughout the recording which I cannot identify with confidence. The first is the 4-5 note song which is heard every 6-9 seconds and most clearly at 0:59, 1:07 and 2:40, possibly White-browed Crombec. The other is the very rapid monotone bursts heard at similar intervals and most clearly at 1:01, 1:09 and 2:42, possibly Evergreen Forest Warbler. Recording amplified and noise below 200 kHz removed using Audacity.
