He begins with his Type 2 song, alternating between a typical three-part song and an uncommon four part song. Later, he switches to his higher-pitched, two-part Type 1 song. At the end of the recording, he switches back to his Type 2 alternating song. Note that Type 1 songs are sporadically including in the Type 2 bout. Perhaps because of the nearby female?

Two cuts from the same mated male, singing the same two-parted (rather than three-parted) song. The neighboring male in the forest on the other side of the street was singing a three-parted song. High in the canopy at all times (at least 40ft above ground), the song volume changes with the bird's position and the direction it was facing relative to the microphone. A single 'tink' call is given at 02:44, and at the very end of the recording, some very soft raspy sounds can be heard while the male chased away a second bird of unknown species (I of course cannot be certain that the rasps were given by the CERW or the bird being chased away).
