This recording was made with a Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun mic into a Zoom H6 portable recorder. The bird was distant and there was a tremendous amount of wind noise, so Adobe Audition's FFT filter was used to knock out most of the spectrum outside of the 1 kHz to 2kHz band. This retained all of the bird song content and removed most of the wind noise.

I could have gotten much closer to the bird, but decided to wait for a less-windy day to get a quality recording.
