Strong-billed Woodcreeper - Xiphocolaptes promeropirhynchus Andrew Spencer 2015-03-17 Camino La Cumbre--Oeste, Oaxaca, Mexico, Ixtlán (Mexico)   - various vocalizations from one of a pair in response to playback. While vocalizing, the bird was moving near the top of a tall pine tree along the road in tall, selectively logged pine forest mixed with some oak. The first cut is mostly song, with one call. The second contains one loud call and then some quiet agitated calls as it moved rapidly up one trunk and then switched to another trunk. The final cut contains one call given while the bird was perched low in short pine trees. 28071281

Strong-billed Woodcreeper - Xiphocolaptes promeropirhynchus sclateri Andrew Spencer 2015-03-20 Cerro San Felipe, Oaxaca, Oaxaca (Mexico) (2900 m) call, song -

natural vocalization; calls from one of a pair of birds, with the other of the pair singing constantly in the background. The calling bird also gives an especially long song at 1:43. Both birds were moving at mid-height through tall pine forest with a dense understory, and appeared to be agitated though I was unable to determine the source of their agitation (no playback was used). The calling bird hard a notably shorter bill than the other individual.
