  • Chaetura vauxi tamaulipensis: eastern Mexico (southwestern Tamaulípas and southeastern San Luis Potosí)
  • Chaetura vauxi ochropygia: eastern Panama
  • Chaetura vauxi aphanes: northern Venezuela, but distribution very poorly known: confirmed from the Río Orinoco Valley in Bolívar, and also reported from Sucre
